Book reports
When I was in school, homework was my nemesis. I hated it with such a passion, especially because I thought it was keeping me from doing much more exciting things. Everything from math to phonics made me want to tear every homework paper to shreds and run outside to play. The worst had to be book reports, mainly because not only did they involve spending the time to read the books, but then you had to write a few hundred word book report on top of it. It was the worst of the worst, and often times this type of assignment was given over the summer during junior high and high school years, which made me hate them even more. Wasn’t that supposed to be our time off?
Even though I hated book reports with a passion, that always seemed to be where I excelled. I hated doing them, but my teachers would always give me high grades. I did enjoy reading the books themselves, which is probably why I could write book reports with some ease, even though I disliked them so much. Somehow, my general like for books shown through and I was able to write with some ease.
Now, you can go online and purchase book reports for a fee. Even though I had such disdain for book report assignments, I would have never imagined doing this. Sure, I hated doing the homework, but I guess I am too much of a chicken to try to pull something like this off. Knowing my luck, I would have been caught and suspended from school or something, which would have been worse than actually doing the book report in the first place! I am amazed that these resources now exist, especially because the internet was a brand new thing while I was finishing high school. It seems to me that it is just a sign of the times where everyone is looking for the easy way out, or getting by doing as little work as possible. Even though I hated book reports, and all other homework for that matter, it really did help me to learn that I sometimes had to do things that I did not like doing. This has served me well in business and other jobs, and I think we all should have to trudge through book reports for a life lesson! Just don’t tell my high school teachers I said that.
