Ionic Air Purifier

If you suffer from environmental or seasonal allergies, then you completely understand the significance of breathing clean air. I have suffered from aggravating allergies all of my life and I have been searching for an effective way to clean the air in my home in hopes of eliminating or calming these reactions. The first steps I took to attack the allergens in my home were to clean the house from top to bottom and keep the dust at a minimum. This, however, can only take you so far in your allergen-eliminating endeavor.

The next step, and possibly the most important and effective one I can take, is to buy an air purifier. I have read and heard a lot of great things about owning an ionic air purifier. I have to be honest about the fact that I do not quite understand the technology behind ionizing.

From what I can tell you, an ionic air purifier “ionizes” the particles in the air which then are collected by removable, washable metal plates inside of the ionic air purifier. The plates can be easily removed and washed off with a damp cloth. A commercial featuring the oreck ionic air purifier claims that the machine is capable of cleaning the air in a thirty-foot by thirty-foot room once an hour. I think that is pretty impressive.

My home is pretty tiny at only about eight hundred square feet so the oreck ionic air purifier should be able to handle my house easily. This type of ionic air purifier runs for around three hundred bucks. That is pretty pricey for me but it may very well be worth it.

The commercial also claimed that the oreck ionic air purifier runs on the same amount of energy that a twenty-five watt light bulb uses. I think that is a very reasonable amount of energy to use toward cleaning the air in my home.

I saw an ionic air purifier at Wal-Mart that was considerably cheaper but I think that this is one of those instances in which you get what you pay for and I certainly do not want to skimp on this one. I spend more than I would like to say on allergy prescriptions, eye-drops, and facial tissue every month and I think that owning an ionic air purifier would significantly cut down those expenses.

If you are in the market for an ionic air purifier, I think I would recommend that you check out the one manufactured by oreck. They seem to have a good reputation and I will definitely let you know my experiences with it if I chose to buy it. Right now it is looking like a really good possibility.
